Haymarket Hotel hosts the 2007 Restaurants Against Hunger launch

Monday 16th July saw the restaurant industry unite in the fight against hunger and mark the launch of this year's Restaurants Against Hunger - "Fight hunger. Eat out" campaign.

The event took place at the Haymarket Hotel and was attended by some of the country’s leading chefs, restaurateurs and food writers including Antonio Carluccio and Bill Knott, both ambassadors for the campaign as well as Peter Harden and Richard Harden and Allegra McEvedy.

All joined together to start the official countdown to October, when hundreds of restaurants, cafés and bars throughout the UK will unite and raise vital funds for the fight against world hunger.

The Haymarket Hotel - part of Firmdale Hotels very generously hosted the event without any cost to the charity.  The generosity of the hotel means that every penny the campaign raises goes directly to charity Action Against Hunger.

As well as the yummy canapés kindly provided by the Haymarket Hotel, guests enjoyed champagne generously donated by Champagne Taittigner and incredible Italian coffee donated by Musetti Caffé.

Monday was also an exciting night as Glynn Christian, food writer and TV chef announced his plans to work with the charity on an exciting new fundraising intiative.
