LONDON’S TOP CHEFS RAISE £14,000 FOR CHARITY
On Sunday 22nd July, London’s leading foodies joined forces to host Picnic Rocks, a gourmet indoor picnic and raise £14,000 in aid of humanitarian charity Action Against Hunger.
The glamorous event was held at Mark Fuller's Embassy, London and saw esteemed chefs including Bryn Williams of Odette’s and BBC’s Great British Menu fame, Hari Nagaraj, head chef at the Cinnamon Club, Jennifer McLaughlin, executive chef at Carluccio’s, and Garry Hollihead, head chef at the Embassy prepare and serve a delicious picnic supper.
Dinner was followed by an exclusive auction, compèred by broadcaster Amy Lamé, where guests bid on fabulous prizes including a Matthew Williamson dress, a lesson for two at the fabulous Cookery School at Little Portland Street and a two night stay at Bono’s Dublin hotel, The Clarence.
After dinner guests headed to the bar downstairs to enjoy live music courtesy of Indie rock band The Jives, presenter Nick Knowles, and his brother John and pop opera duo Ryandan.
All funds raised from Picnic Rocks will go directly to Action Against Hunger, which helps vulnerable populations around the world in their daily struggle to feed themselves. Every pound raised goes to support the charity’s programmes in 43 countries stretching across five continents. Its international fieldworkers and local teams are directly responsible for helping millions of people every year.
Picnic Rocks was generously supported by Embassy London, Champagne Taittinger and Caffé Musetti.
