Restaurants Against Hunger is a year-round campaign but the official "Fight. hunger. Eat out" Month is in October coinciding with UN World Food Day.

Restaurants may participate year round or just throughout October - so there is plenty of time to join the hundreds of restaurants, cafes, bars and canteens that are participating this October.

We send restaurants free and easy to use promotional material -

*Table cards to inform your customers about the campaign
*Thank you cards to give to customers
*A3 Posters for your restaurant and staff room
*A Fundraising Guide with all the information you need to start running the campaign and send the money collected to Action Against Hunger at the end of the fundraising period.

What you can do

Year-round support

Join the many restaurants who donate a small percentage of the profits from a specific dish throughout the year.

"Fight hunger. Eat out" 1-31 October... Either:

- Add an optional donation to bills

The most popular approach is to add a small donation to each bill - donations range from 50p to £2. With a card on each table explaining your restaurant is supporting Action Against Hunger and informing customers that this is a voluntary donation.

- Designate a dish

Select a specific dish and donate a small amount from the sale of this to the campaign. Giving the dish a quirky name makes it a really fun – but charitable option. For example Fight Hunger Chocolate Pud or Swordfish Against Hunger.

- Host an event

Organise a fundraising night or charity raffle, auction off your last table on Valentine’s day or mark a special day in the year by fundraising: mother’s day could become:

How will my restaurant benefit from joining the campaign?

Benefits include:

Your restaurant will be part of a high profile media campaign tackling hunger worldwide
Restaurants will be listed in the Restaurants Against Hunger directory together with a link to your own website
Media coverage in both national and local press
The chance to receive tickets for exclusive events and meet top chefs and restaurant critics
Reduced rates for goods and services offered by our sponsors

Where does the money go?

£5 could pay for a full meal for 25 children

£27 could pay for a survival kit that Action Against Hunger needs to save the life of a severely malnourished child in one of our Therapeutic Feeding Centres.

£250 could pay for antibiotic treatment for 300 severely malnourished children in our Therapeutic Feeding Centres for two week

All money raised goes directly to Action Against Hunger, helping millions of people in their struggle to feed themselves and their families. Action Against Hunger International Network's teams respond to humanitarian crises in over 40 countries saving the lives of severely malnourished children but also working with vulnerable communities on lasting solutions, helping them to produce their own food or gain long-term access to water. All money raised through Restaurants Against Hunger will go directly towards our programmes.
